Michael Weldon is a freelance director of photography based out of Chicago. Originally from the Philadelphia area, Weldon graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a major in film and video and a concentration in cinematography. During this time, he studied under award-winning Czech cinematographer, Jaromir Sofr. He has a knowledgeable experience working with both film and digital formats and places particular emphasis on the craft of lighting. Weldon has worked locally on independent features and shorts, commercials, and music videos. In the Summer of 2011 he traveled to Ghana while shooting the reality TV show, The Spirited Actor and remains passionate about incorporating travel into his work.
